Little Pumpkins Nursery & Pre-Primary

Little Pumpkins Nursery & Pre-Primary

We offers inclusive early years education and childcare as well as holiday club, breakfast and after school wrap around care for children aged 2 – 11 years.

The learning environment is a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematic) approach focusing on the child’s interest. Our practitioners are highly motivated and self-directing early years educators who attune to your child to support their development.

Little Pumpkins Learning Approach

The learning approach consists of child initiated and spontaneous learning experiences, of the child’s choosing, which children will have during their time at Little Pumpkins; essentially concluding the children are the curriculum in their own rights.   We follow the guidance recommended by the Department for Education Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, which is overarching and encompassing to the foundations of our provision.   Little Pumpkins’ approach to teaching is predominately child-led experiences which is encompassed within an adult influenced environment manufactured using their knowledge and understanding of the children’s interest and cultural capital.   We take a flavour of theory from many chief theorist and early years learning approaches which is supported by practices underpinning and reflective in our practice.

The learning experience must reflect their stage of development to ensure maximum benefit.  In line with statutory duty Little Pumpkins utilises outcomes such as Birth to 5 matters and/or incorporating a specific agreed outcome check (such as Early Years Developmental Check), depending on the child’s developmental needs.   Our continuous provision and learning environment supports children’s education and development.
